Repentance and Restoration In 2025

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God.1 Peter 4:17a NKJV

If there is any hope for any nation, it will come through a return to God, and that process always starts with the Church. Any restoration is by repentance and a renewed reverence for the Word of God.

The most significant reformation the Church has ever had was the Protestant Reformation. Martin Luther brought about this reformation, saying, “My conscience is captive to the Word of God.” What we Christians call the world has a way of molding us to its image and away from Biblical precepts. The Apostle Paul contrasts the spirit of this world and the Spirit of God: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God (1 Corinthians 2:12 NKJV).

This spirit of this world is a mindset or values that contradict the priorities of Christian teaching. 1 John 2:15-17 tells that we receive this spirit by loving the things of the world more than God. Verse 16 NKJV reveals to us what the world looks like; “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” Almost all sin will fall into these categories; it has never changed. Inappropriate sex, greed, and unlimited power have been the sins of our recent fallen Christian leaders.

You receive the spirit of this world by committing spiritual adultery and loving anything, good or bad, more than God. You can have something and not love it or love something and not have it. The key is, do you have it, or does it have you?

We need to check our hearts in 2025.
